Facing Job Interview
By admin | February 23, 2009
Do not lose the job of your dream just because you fail to pass the interview. Here are some easy steps to face the job interview.
1. The words “dress for success” is not just metaphorical! The correct dress that you wear will also affect the result. Wear clothes that are appropriate with the position you want. For instances, you cannot wear a jean when you chase an executive position.
2. Come to the interview at least 15 minutes before schedule. This will provide you time to prepare. For example, you can make-up, clothing, going to the bathroom and others. Besides, come on time also gives a good impression.
3. Handshake gives first impression that is very important. Do not shake the interviewer’s hand with a hesitation. Shake it closely as when you meet an old friend. Give a firm but friendly impression.
4. When the interview takes place, be confident. Look at eyes of the interviewer with friendly impression.
5. Let your CV talks. CV is the first introduction for a prospective employee. Make a CV that describes you as best as possible. Write also hobbies and interests that describe you. However, be honest in your CV! A lie will give you nothing.
6. When the interviewer read your CV, do not speak as much as possible. Talk in this situation will make his/her attanetion distracted from your CV.
7. Do not look too restless or recline when sitting. Attitudes of sitting will make us look like a nervous and shiftless person.
8. Learn the background of the company. It will make your response looks broad.
9. Asking is not prohibited in an interview. Questions will describe who you are. So, be careful in asking. For instance, asking how long the lunch hour is, will give an impression of shiftless and happy playing person.
10. If you apply to a company that needs creative ideas, do not hesitate to submit a proposal or suggestion. However, be serious. Describe a short and interesting proposal, so they will see some good points.
11. Do not forget that an interviewer is also a human. Speak fairly and openly. Do not try to deceive or lie, they will find out.
12. When you are asked, why you resign from your previous company, do not talk the bad extensively that the company is bad (although in fact so). Just say that your talent and ideas is less bright in your previous company and therefore you propose to the company.
